Overview
This scheme supports transnational, structured and result-driven cooperation between higher education and business. It is open to any discipline, sector and cross-sectorial cooperation, particularly in emerging fields.
The purpose of Knowledge Alliances is to strengthen Europe’s innovation capacity by fostering innovation in higher education via balanced, two-way knowledge exchange with enterprises and across the broader socio-economic environment.
Features
Knowledge Alliances implement a set of activities through transnational structured partnerships involving minimum six organisations (of which minimum two higher education institutions and minimum two enterprises) from at least three Programme Countries.
Activities
Knowledge Alliances implement a set of activities which are flexible and adaptable to different contexts across Europe and should aim at:
- Boosting innovation in higher education, business and in the broader socio-economic environment;
- Developing entrepreneurship mind-set and skills;
- Stimulating the flow and exchange of knowledge between higher education and enterprises.
Duration
2 or 3 years. The duration has to be chosen at application stage.
Participants
Participating organisations can be any public or private organisation, established in a Programme Country.
Organisations from Partner Countries (such as Switzerland) can take part in the project as partners (though not as the coordinating applicant), so long as their involvement brings a clear added value to the project.
How to apply
Any participating organisation established in a Programme Country can be the applicant. This organisation applies on behalf of all participating organisations involved in the project.
Deadline
The application must be submitted at the EACEA. There will be a call each year. Please check the EACEA’s website for the general call for proposal and up-to-date application deadlines
